Gracie's Story...
Sweet Grace has an almost comical mustache black batch of fur under her nose - it just adds character to this sweet girl. She came to our rescue after her owner's Alzheimer's made him too ill to continue to care for her. Tyson's Place Animal Rescue's mission is to assist terminally ill people with finding homes for their pets.

This friendly girl lived with cats and dogs in her previous home. She currently loves with two small dogs in her foster home and does fine with them. Though she didn't live with children, the grandkids often came to visit and she did great with them. She is outgoing and enjoys exploring her surroundings. She is just 6 years old and front declawed. If I could use one word to describe her - I would say FRIENDLY. She LOVES people and will rub on you and flop on her side looking to be pet. She likes to cuddle with you when you are sleeping too. She is still young - so she likes toys, especially cat nip toys, and loves to steal a hair tie to play with too. She jumps in boxes too small for her and would go nuts with a laser pointer.

Her adoption fee is $40, which includes vaccinations and microchip. If you are interested in her, please email tysonsplacerescue@gmail.com or fill out an application at www.tysonsplacerescue.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gracie, a Jamestown Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Jamestown, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Jamestown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jamestown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jamestown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jamestown paves the way for another one to be saved.
