Little Randi was found stumbling down the side of a road in West Virginia. A Good Samaritan picked her up and took her to the local shelter. Randi, a senior toy poodle, was in terrible shape. Her coat was so overgrown that hair was wrapped around her rotted teeth and was the only thing holding her lower canines in her mouth. Her nails were so long that it was difficult for her to balance, yet most horrifying were her eyes. We will spare you the details, but we will tell you that she could not see and was in excruciating pain. She looked like a dog that had been living wild and fending for herself for years, yet that couldn't have been the case because SHE REEKED OF CIGARETTE SMOKE.

Rather than putting her in a cage, the shelter transported her to an angel who immediately started warm compresses on her angry eyes and reached out to HART.

Randi saw the vet only hours later and the news was every bit as bad as we feared it would be, given her appearance. Her teeth were rotted and abscessed and her eyes were not salvageable.

Despite her severe afflictions and what was clearly years of abject neglect, Randi has a lot of spunk and a great capacity to love. We are looking forward to helping her be able to enjoy the gentle touch of a loving person. For more information, please see our website listing for Randi or contact
