If you are interested in adopting an ARPO pet, please visit our website, for details about our fees and process, and to complete our Pre-Qualification Form. ARPO limits adoptions to within 50 miles of Indianapolis. We do not have a shelter; all pets are in volunteer foster homes.
Momma Iona is a beautiful long haired tabby. She loves to talk to you when you get home as if to tell you all about her day. She came from a shelter in Salem, IN along with two of her babies. This is unfortunately a high kill shelter for space. If we had not gotten them out she would have been killed along with her babies. She is a friendly gal that loves to be petted but not necessarily be picked up.
Unfortunately she has tested positive for the FIV virus. This does not mean she cannot live a long and healthy life. She would be best with being the only cat in the house. Although the risk of transmitting the disese to another cat is very low it can happen. She lives with several dogs she pretty much just ignores so dogs would not be an issue.
If you would like to meet Iona please go online to adoptarpo.org and fill out an application. Her foster Mom will be in touch.

You'll receive a copy, too, at to help you keep track of which pets you've inquired about, and which shelters and rescues you've emailed.
NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter! Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply. You can find information about the shelter or rescue group caring for this pet, and their adoption procedures, on the pet's details page on Adopt-a-Pet.com.
