Oscar's Story...
"Hi! My name is OSCAR. I'm a happy, delightful, and lovable four-year-old Dachshund fellow. You can also see that I'm quite handsome. I'm playful, affectionate, and lively. I love to play fetch with toys, and I enjoy going on walks. My love of toys is strong, so I don't want other dogs or kids to nab them. I'd need to be the only dog in an adult home so that I don't have to worry about it. I've already been house trained and neutered, so I'm ready to roll! Please come visit me at the El Cajon Animal Shelter so we can get acquainted out in the play yard. Sometimes we shelter dogs get so used to our kennels that we feel like we need to protect our spaces by barking when people walk by. If you spend time out in the play yard with me, you'll see what an excellent dog I am, then you'll want to take me home. I hope to visit with you soon! Love, Oscar"

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Oscar, a El Cajon Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in El Cajon, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in El Cajon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Cajon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Cajon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Cajon paves the way for another one to be saved.
