My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adorable, wide eyed Cindy Lou Who came to the city shelter with her brother and two sisters, sad, undernourished, and sporting a whopper of a kitty cold. They were immediately scooped up by The Philly Kitty and sent into foster care to help them get well again. As time passed, Cindy's siblings all got healthy and Cindy still had a slight cold. It was then that we realized that Miss Cindy likely is the carrier of a viral infection very common in stray kitties. While her siblings were unaffected, because Cindy was the runt of the litter, her immune system was not able to fight off the better part of the virus. As a result, Cindy will sometimes have a ‘stuffy nose' sound or slightly weepy eyes.

None of this has put a damper on her sweet and curious spirit, nor does it slow her down! She is full of love and purrs and lives to play with other kitties, but would also be fine in a home by herself - provided she had LOTS of toys to play with!
As far as her virus is concerned, the only thing her new family will have to do is keep her as stress free as possible, and keep an eye out for any worsening of symptoms - which would indicate a trip to the vet for some simple antibiotics. Her foster mom does provide her with an immune boosting vitamin called L-Lysine that is sprinkled on her food twice daily. This inexpensive supplement can be found at many of the major pet stores and will help her have a better immune response to any viral reaction she may have.
Cindy Lou Who is an adorable little lady and is so excited to find a forever home of her own!

Cindy is spayed, current on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, and free of fleas. She is available for adoption through The Philly Kitty. You can fill out an application to adopt Cindy at http://www.thephillykitty.org/adoption-application.html. Screening and adoption fee applies.
