Uni's Story...
Uni (Gray) is a warm little ball of energy and affection. Her purring begins the moment she sees you, and upon approach she will greet you with a gentle head bunt. Uni is a sweet and social little girl. She loves to be held and pet. She also loves chasing toy mice, and will leap like a leopard if you wave one for her in the air. Uni is adventurous, curious, and playful. She is an exciting addition to any family!

Maki (White/Gray) is a super-sweet little girl with medium length fur. She is a little shy at first, but will take cues from her brave sister in exploring her environment. Maki may not initiate contact, but clearly loves to be around people. She will sit near you while she sleeps, grooms, and eats. Maki enjoys being pet and held. She tends to be fairly low-key and low maintenance. By the way, Maki has the softest, silkiest fur in Virginia!

Uni and Maki were rescued as strays in West Virginia. They’re very bonded to one another, and must be adopted together. The sisters were born on May 22nd, 2016. They’ve been micro chipped, tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia, and are current on shots for their age.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Uni, a Merrifield Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Merrifield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Merrifield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Merrifield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Merrifield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Merrifield paves the way for another one to be saved.
