Lucus's Story...
Ozzie & Lucus came to 4Paws when their foster momma rescued them at 3 weeks old. They were critically ill and would not have made it had she not stepped in. We estimate they were born around early to mid-May 2016.

Ozzie is a friendly, outgoing little boy who is quick to come greet you. He will lie in your arms like a baby to receive his attention and soon will fall asleep. He’ll reward you for your time with lots of snuggles and his strong purr.

Lucus is always the first to seek adventure and loves to play with you! No slouch in the athletic department, he loves to play rough with his brother and eagerly will come when called.

They are available for adoption together or to a home with another young cat that will play and wrestle with them. They are very active little kittens who need someone that will give them lots of attention and play with them every day. They haven’t met a dog but believed will do fine in a home with other cats or dogs.

They are up to date on vaccinations, micro chipped, and have tested negative for FIV & feline leukemia. They will be neutered when old enough.

All they need now are their forever homes.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucus, a Merrifield Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Merrifield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Merrifield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Merrifield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Merrifield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Merrifield paves the way for another one to be saved.
