Truffles is a sweet 5 year old pitbull who loves to cuddle. She is a medium sized dog. She is looking for the easy life with lots of cuddles, walks, and laying around in the sunshine. She is house broken, she hates crates but can be left in a room and be trusted. She does well with dogs her own size or bigger. She isn’t super playful with other dogs in general, so she’d be happy to be the only dog. Truffles loves to go for car rides. She adores meeting new people and will do anything for a treat, she even has the cutest little shuffle when pleading for another one. Truffles does have bad hips and will need to be on pain meds and possibly special food for the rest of her life. Truffles also finds cats and small dogs too exciting and needs to live in a house without either. Truffles will make anyone fall in love with her big puppy eyes and adorable short legs. Truffles adores her people and wants to be wherever they are. She is ready to find her furever home and is happy to fill a spot on your couch. If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at www.caws.org.

About Community Animal Welfare Society

About Our Rescue Group...

Founded in 1992 the Community Animal Welfare Society ( CAWS) is one of the oldest no-kill animal rescues in Utah. Over the last 20 years CAWS, our fosters and supporters have saved thousands of lives including over 600 last this year. As the largest foster home network in the state of Utah we focus on high risk pets in need of additional care and rehabilitation

Come Meet Our Pets...

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.

Our Adoption Process...

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.
