Please consider that many of these dogs have been abandoned, ignored by their previous owners, or turned in to a shelter, having little interaction with someone who cares about them. When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life.
Gypsy is a sweet, happy girl who was found as a stray and taken to a shelter and then transferred to FRGSR. She is an affectionate 3 yr old GSD who has been waiting for a long time for her forever family to come along. Given that she was a stray, her past is a mystery, but what we've learned about Gypsy is that she loves people but needs a firm handler who can redirect her if she becomes dominant with other dogs. Some dogs haven't been properly socialized with other dogs when they are puppies, but it doesn't mean they can't learn. Gypsy has done great at our meet and greet events being surrounded by dogs she doesn't know well and we hope we can find her the forever home she deserves very soon.
Although we do our best to keep our adoptable animals page as current as possible, not all the animals you see may be available . We get dogs often, so get your application in, and we will do our best to match the best dog to you and your circumstances.
