HAZEL's Story...
MEET MISS SUNSHINE…..……HAZEL!!! Hazel is a Golden Retriever mix that is in her goofy teenager stage. At 48 pounds and approximately 1 year old, she has reached her physical adult size. Goldens are great family dogs, but there is much more that comes along. They are one of the smartest and most energetic dogs in the dog kingdom, especially as youngsters. So many shelter dogs come from pet owners who did not take the time to train their dog. Have a little patience to teach basic manners with a positive based method and Hazel will have you singing, “You Are My Sunshine” in no time. Write pawsnada@aol.com for an application. Call 580-332-5233 or visit the shelter after 10am.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

HAZEL, a Ada Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Ada, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Ada.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ada already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ada breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ada paves the way for another one to be saved.
