MEET VIPER AKA MR. HAPPY……  Viper is a medium size, goofy and sweet boy that has been waiting for his forever home, well, forever… through no fault of his.  You see, Viper was abused in his previous life and though very happy to make a new adult human friend, he is very scared of children.  He needs a home with older children or even no children.

Please do not confuse his name, Viper, with the personality of a snake (viper), the staff actually named him Viper because his sleek black coat shines like a new Dodge Viper (sports car).  Viper has one blue eye and one black eye that makes for a very striking appearance.  He is much more handsome than his picture shows him.  Black dogs are very hard to photograph.

Viper is a charter member of P.A.W.S Breakfast Club.  We have a volunteer that takes some of the longer term residents out for breakfast.  It gives them a chance to spend part of their day out of a pen and become more socialized.  Some have never ridden in a car or been through a McDonalds drive through window.  They love it.  If interested in being part of the Breakfast Club, talk to our Manager.

Call (580-332-5233) or write pawsnada@yahoo.com for an application and more information on Mr. Happy or simply drop by between 11-6, M-F and 10-2 on Saturday.

About Pontotoc Animal Welfare Society

About Our Shelter...

"To save the lives of unwanted pets by changing the way our community views animal shelters and adoption. We strive to provide an educational and family friendly atmosphere that will change their future one pet, one family, and one generation at a time."

Come Meet Our Pets...

1200 Sandy Creek Dr. Ada, Oklahoma 74820
We also have adoption events at our local Petsense, Tractor Supply, Wintersmith Park, etc.

Our Adoption Process...

All potential adopters must fill out our adoption application, once completed it will be reviewed by our staff members. If you have current animals we do call your vet to verify that they are up to date on their vaccines. We will also contact your Landlord if you rent to verify that it is okay for you to have pets, and that the pet you are interested in is okay with owner of the property.
Our adoption fees for dogs is as follows:
$90 if they are new to the shelter
$75 if they have been with us for 6 months or more
$50 if they have been with us for over 1 year
-Above prices include the dog being spayed/neutered, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, Heartworm tested (negative), started on heartworm prevention, regular deworming schedule, and flea/tick prevention.

$125 it they have been through a 10 week basic training course; everything above is included in this adoption fee along with them being microchipped (microchip is a lifetime member ship which has already been paid by us, all that needs to be done is switching it into your name).

Our adoption fees for cats are $35, this includes them being spayed/neutered, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, FeLV/FIV/Heartworm tested (negative), dewormed, and have been started on flea/tick prevention. (if the kitten you adopt is 6 months or younger we do not test them here at the shelter but strongly suggest that you take them to your vet for testing within 10 days of adoption, if anything were to be positive we will offer to exchange the kitten or a healthy one, at which point we will give you 90 days to find one that would be a better fit for your home.
