Facts about Maxie & Taffy

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Orange Or Red (Mostly)
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Male
  • Hair: Short
Back in 2014 we called them our "teenager boys".

The twins were brought in from an outdoor colony and homed to a wonderful lady who very quickly after adopting them, suffered some heath issues.

They were brought back into our care and after a few months were adopted out again to a great family.

They've been with this family for the last 1.5 yrs. Sadly, the young boy of the family developed some severe allergies to the boys and we are again!

We have such a huge level of commitment to each and every feline adopted through this program. No matter the scenario, we will always accept any cat back with open arms.

Maxie & Taffy are approximately 3 years old now and need a nice calm, quiet home. They have been exposed to middle-aged children but are independent, reserved boys. They don't care to be squished or carried around - they love to play together and lounge quietly on their cat tree. They love to lay with their foster parents when watching TV or in bed. They're trained to scratch appropriately on their cat tree as well.

They're neutered and up to date with their vaccinations/deworming.

Their next home needs to be their forever home..our hearts can't bare anything less. They are such amazing boys and we love them dearly.

Adoption by donation. Minimum donation: $50 to help us cover our costs for food/litter this time around

About Change For Paws

About Our Rescue Group...

Our true passion is our TNR Program.
TNR stands for “Trap-Spay/Neuter-Release”

We target areas within Oxford County with a large number of stray/feral felines. We manage humane live traps in those areas and transport any caught feline to our veterinarian.

Each feline undergoes a series of treatments, which may include any or all of the following:

De-worming, flea prevention
Disease screening (Feline Leukemia & FIV)

This process is done as quickly as possible to reduce the amount of stress on the animal. Typically each cat is released back into the same location in which they were found within 24 hours.

We continue to monitor these "colonies" - giving them follow-up medical attention (if needed) and ensuring they are provided with all necessary means of survival in the areas they reside.

If there are any young kittens or adults that are friendly enough to go to a new home then we do our best to adopt them out. It's very important to us that as many cats as possible have loving homes while still working hard to care and supply medical treatment to those felines who are happiest outdoors.

Our Adoption Process...

Adoptions by donation!
Minimum donations range from $50-150

Our "Foster To Adopt" program allows young kittens to go to their new forever home with all their appointments (vaccines & spay/neuter + microchip) prearranged and included in the adoption fee. This ensures that all adopted felines receive all required medical treatments at the appropriate age and leaves nothing additional for the new owners to do at their own cost.

All felines are owned by "Change for Paws" until all vaccines, deworming, spay/neuter etc appointments are completed. If at any time the foster family does not abide by these rules, the foster contract will be void & felines removed from their care.
