Reuger's Story...
Meet Reuger! This gorgeous boy was unfortunately brought to the shelter because his family moved into a place where they couldn't take him, no fault of his own. Reuger plays well with others, but a meet and greet is a must as he can be a bit dominant with other dogs. He LOVES frisbee. Reuger has never been around livestock, but has been in a home with cats where he did fine with.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Reuger, a Fredericksburg Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd for sale in Fredericksburg, or seeking a Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Fredericksburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fredericksburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fredericksburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fredericksburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
