Kate's Story...
Hello potential adopters! My name is Kate. I am a 3-5 year old Shepherd/Husky mix. Recently, I found myself in a high kill shelter, with only hours left to live. Scared and alone, I had completely shut down, but through it all, I remained a sweet, loving girl. I was rescued just in time, and I am now at a foster home in Salisbury, NC. I am house trained, crate trained, very people friendly, and dog and cat friendly. I had a skin infection when I came into the shelter, but it is looking much better now with proper nutrition and shelter. I am spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, and on heartworm and flea prevention. Would you be interested in making me part of your family today? Please email my rescue and find out more about me!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kate, a Richmond German Shepherd Dog/Husky dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Husky for sale in Richmond, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Husky dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Husky breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Husky rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
