Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sweet Juniper was from us last month but was just returned because she pulled too hard on her leash when she saw dogs and cats out on her walks. Her adopter was very sad to part with her and said she is a wonderful companion. She was originally found as a stray and looks like she had some tough years including having many litters of puppies. She couldn't be friendlier or gentler and is perfectly behaved for baths and other care. She has legs and a body like a Basset Hound, but we have no idea what the rest of her mix is. Our vet thinks she is approximately 7 - 9 years old. She is happy and grateful for every kindness and her tail is always wagging. She seems to enjoy other dogs but is not good around cats.
E-mail inquiries about a dog are not considered an application. If you are interested in adopting a dog, please fill out the dog adoption application on this page of our website:

If a dog is listed on our website, that means that dog is still available for adoption. The Shelter is staffed primarily by volunteers so adoption meetings take place on Saturdays from 11 - 1:00 during adoption hours, or by appointment. Our dog adoption fee for dogs 5 years old or younger is $350. Every dog we place is vaccinated, wormed, treated for ticks/fleas, tested for heartworm and Lyme and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash and a month's worth of heartworm preventative. If a dog is listed on our website, they are still available for adoption. Please fill out the adoption application if you would like to be considered for a dog you see in our care.
With very few exceptions, dogs are happiest and the most well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families who are willing to make a commitment to both.
