Cassidy looking for her own forever home to be loved!

Foster Home Feedback

9/20/16: Adopt this beefy goofball! Cassidy is now in a foster home with two other dogs. The adjustments to living with other dogs has gone really well and she seems to like having other dogs around. That being said, I think she would be fine as an only dog as well. She currently lives with two older dogs who do not like to play. However, over the weekend she was with a small bulldog and they played the whole weekend!

She is on medication for anxiety. Cassidy takes it in the morning and in the evening and it really helps her to live a calmer life. She is still very high energy and definitely needs daily activity as well. Either a doggy playmate or someone who likes to walk or run would be a good match for her!

Cassidy runs into her kennel with a simple command and keeps her kennel clean. She is kenneled when I'm at work and also at night when I'm sleeping. The first couple of days that I had her she whined a little bit in her kennel but is now quiet in her kennel and sleeps in there through the night.

Cassidy also has some stranger danger that needs to be monitored, particularly at the vet. However, she has been to the FM Pack walk and to 4LOD Adoption days. At the pack walk, she met kids, adults and lots of other dogs and was excited but not inappropriate. At adoption days she rolled over for kids and adults to pet her belly and did awesome with small children, teenagers, and adults at adoption days. She definitely wants to play with the other dogs and will bark to get their attention.

Cassidy is going to be cat tested this upcoming weekend to get a little more information about how she would be in that environment. (Update:  Cassidy briefly met a cat and did well!) Otherwise, I think Cassidy is a great dog who would be a fun addition to a home looking for a little more spunk in their life!

8/16/16: Hi my name is Cassidy,

I am 6 years old and a very sweet dog.  I’ve recently had surgery on my knee to repair my torn ACL and am working on healing from that.  I love to be petted and sometimes I think I am a lap dog, even though I’m 70 pounds.

I am doing well with my leash training.  I do much better with a harness than when I am just walking with my collar.

I am very well trained with my kennel.  If you tell me to go in my kennel, I will get in there immediately and sometimes, even if you don’t tell me to, I will lay go lay in it for some alone time.

I can be a picky eater.  I will eat any wet food you give me, but I am only so-so when it comes to just dry food.  My foster family will sometimes put just a little bit of wet food with my dry food and I will eat it up.  They are trying to make sure I take my medications!

I am a very sweet girl.  I love my people so much and just want a nice relaxed home that I can have my people to myself.  I would love a fenced in yard, so when I am healed up, I can run around outside.

Are you my forever family?  Let’s meet!

Our Adoption Process...

There is a pre-adoption application, reference check, and home visit required prior to adopting an animal. There is an adoption donation/fee applied to all dogs. This fee ranges from $100-150. These fees help cover the veterinary care we have provided for the animals while they wait for homes. The fee also helps pay for the food and other general care we provide for the dogs. You must be 21 yrs or older to adopt a dog and can not live in a an area where there are dog breed bans. We do adopt to homes outside on the area, but there are special requirements for out of state adopters.
