Hello out there! My name is Jitterbug! I am a 3 yr old Orange Wing Amazon parrot and I'm just cute as a bug. Wait. Bugs aren't really that cute, so, I'm MUCH cuter than a bug!
Since I came to Rescue, I've been converted to a very healthy diet. I now eat pellets, veggies and fruits. Matter of fact, now that I've started down the healthy road, I am sure you could try giving me lots of other bird friendly yummies and I would eat those too. You know us Amazons, we normally do like to eat!
When I first came to Rescue, I would only let my foster mom handle me. Now, I am so much happier and more relaxed, I will let more than just ladies handle me which my foster mom said is great. I am also a very good talker and will gladly tell you that you are so pretty or I love you. I also really enjoy listening to opera music.
I will step up onto your hand or arm when the mood strikes me but once I have, I really like it when you give me head scritches. I come with a pretty big cage. Although I don't feel the need to defend it, I do get highly upset if you go into it and I will scream at you! After all, what are you doing in MY cage anyway?
Birds like me live around 50 years and I am only 3 years old! I am looking for a forever family that is committed to having me around for a long time. Could you be part of that family? An avian veterinarian has properly vetted all birds before they are placed up for adoption. Adoption fees include the bird's cage IF the bird has a cage - most do, but please ask!
