Jake's Story...
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Hello, my name is Jake. I am about 5-6 years old and I'm hoping to find my forever home soon. I am housebroken, kennel trained, and I know basic commands such as sit and stay. I've also been working on waiting to be released to eat and go outside. My fosters have a dog for me to play with, but I'm happy and content by myself most of the time. I'd prefer to have all the attention on me. I might be small but I have a big bark, I like to let other dogs know that I'm there. Despite that, I have very sweet demeanor and I love to snuggle. I see myself as a protector, so I will follow you around the house and make sure you're safe. I just want to be loved and be home with my family. For more information about Jake, please contact caroldoser@hotmail.com. You can complete the adoption contract at www.lasthoperescueia.org/adopt. Indoor homes only. Adoption fee is $200.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jake, a Cedar Rapids Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Cedar Rapids, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Cedar Rapids.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cedar Rapids already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cedar Rapids breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cedar Rapids paves the way for another one to be saved.
