Ryder's Story...
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Hi! My name is Ryder! I'm looking for a new home. I had a pretty rough start but I'm not complaining. When my foster parents found me they took me to the vet and got me all fixed up. The vet said my tail was broken and needed to be amputated. I wasn't sure what that meant but after a nap at the vets office I woke up and my tail was gone. It doesn't really bother me, my foster mom says it just makes me cuter. :) I really like this whole being in a home thing. I'm hoping I can find my forever home soon. I don't mind having other animals around, it took me a couple days to figure it out but I play with both the other kitty and the dogs in the house. But what I really like is curling up next to my foster parents. Do you think I can cuddle up next to you? If you are interested in meeting Ryder please email Crystal at cdmcguire88@gmail.com. Last Hope has a no declaw policy.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ryder, a Cedar Rapids Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Cedar Rapids, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Cedar Rapids.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cedar Rapids already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cedar Rapids breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cedar Rapids paves the way for another one to be saved.
