Cinco's Story...
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Say hello to Cinco! This adorable one-year old female black cat came to us by way of “the streets”. After being abandoned, she found refuge in our neighborhood where the neighbors noticed her loving and playful demeanor. We’ve been fostering her, indoors, for the last 3 months and have learned that she likes to chase balls and play with a wand toy. When Cinco is happy, she likes to stick out a little bit of her tongue. It’s very adorable. She enjoys being brushed and sleeping in window sills. Our experience has taught us that Cinco should be the only cat in her forever home. Cinco would do best in a family that enjoys being active with her as she is quite playful. For more information about Cinco please contact sonia@lasthoperescueia.org. The adoption application can be found at www.lasthoperescueia.org/adopt/adoption-forms. Indoor homes only. Adoption donation $75.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cinco, a Cedar Rapids Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Cedar Rapids, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Cedar Rapids.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cedar Rapids already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cedar Rapids breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cedar Rapids paves the way for another one to be saved.
