Duke's Story...
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Duke came into our care as a transfer from CRACC, so his history is unknown. Duke's personality is still a bit of a puzzle to us at this point, due to the fact that he has shown us signs of protectiveness, but has also acted like a big goofy boy! When he is choosing to act like a big puppy, Duke's favorite thing to do is play catch and fetch, and let me tell you, he is great at it! This boy never misses a ball! Duke is currently being housed in Vinton at the Vinton Animal Shelter. Please email, DFriendsOfTheShelter@yahoo.com with any questions! Or, if you would like to meet Duke please fill out an adoption application that can be found at: www.pawsforfriends.com. Thank you and we hope to hear from you soon!

Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Duke, a Cedar Rapids Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Cedar Rapids, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Cedar Rapids.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cedar Rapids already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cedar Rapids breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cedar Rapids paves the way for another one to be saved.
