Ellie/Lucy's Story...
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Lucy was a stray and came to us with the name Lucy. But her foster parents call her Ellie and she responds very well to that name so we will call her Ellie. Ellie is a fun and sweet California girl. She sits very prettily for treats and likes her people friends. She is probably around 2-3 years old and weighs under 10 pounds. She is doggy door trained. She does not bark much. She is a great cuddler! Ellie also does well with other dogs. And lets not forget she is adorable to look at! Adoption fee is $150. Indoor homes only. Please fill out the online application. Please contact Kamille at kamillekurseth@msn.com , if you would like to meet her.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ellie/Lucy, a Cedar Rapids Chihuahua/Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Dachshund for sale in Cedar Rapids, or seeking a Chihuahua/Dachshund dog from a breeder in Cedar Rapids.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cedar Rapids already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cedar Rapids breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Dachshund breeders who help with Chihuahua/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cedar Rapids paves the way for another one to be saved.
