Cesar's Story...
Meet Cesar! This handsome old man was rescued after both of his owners died within a few weeks of each other and he was literally orphaned. Cesar is 14 years old and has arthritis that he has to take medicine for but is otherwise healthy. He has several "old dog" growths on his elbows and knees where has laid of hard surfaces and developed what looks like elephant skin..they are nothing to be concerned about,,,just ugly. He does pant a lot and it seems to be worse when he is overheated so keeping him cool is key. He LOVES LOVES LOVES... people and tennis balls.... !!! He will follow you wherever you go and always has to have a ball in his mouth. Even though his is an old boy, he still has a lot of puppy in him and wants to play fetch . He will run after a ball and bring it back to you as many times as you will trough it... but we try to limit his play during the hot days. Obviously with him being as old as he is we do not know how much time we will have with him and are only asking for a donation as his adoption fee. His arthritis medicine is about $50 a month to maintain his mobility, He is fine with other dogs and is housetrained. Cesar is a typical lab...very sweet and loving. If you are interested in Cesar please visit our website for an application at www.southernrootsrescue.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cesar, a Nashville Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Nashville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Nashville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Nashville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Nashville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Nashville paves the way for another one to be saved.
