OUR ADOPTION FEES ALLOW US TO CONTINUE TO HELP HOMELESS PETS. 9/28/2016: Tempe has been spayed and vetted and us ready to join her new family. She weighs approx 56 pounds as of 9/28. Tempe has no health issues per her medical exam. She did test positive for heartworms but has started on a monthly treatment of ivermectin (microfilaricide). She tested negative for intestinal parasites.Tempe is a young pointer/lab mix-approx 1 year old. She had wandered onto a lady's property to play with her dogs but the lady was only visiting and had to leave in a few days. She attempted to locate the owner but nobody acknowledged knowing the dog or who she may belong to so now Tempe is looking for a new family to love. Tempe seems to be very friendly and does get along well with other dogs. She would also probably do great with kids and/or anyone who wanted to play with her. She seems to be a more submissive girl. Tempe would love a yard to run and play in or nice excursions to the beach or dog park. Like to walk, run or hike? Tempe would love to go with you! This sweet girl will make a nice family companion! If interested in adopting Tempe, please submit your interest and adoption application via email or call us @ (352)493-1255 for more information or to set up a meet and greet. Tempe will be spayed/vetted soon and will be able to go home as soon as she is spayed. Tempe's adoption fee will be $150 and will help to cover her spay, vetting and cost of care while with us.

About Paws & Claws

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a small rescue started in September 2004. To date, we have adopted out over 250 dogs and cats who may not have had a second chance. We rescue the majority of our pets from kill shelters and have them thoroughly vetted prior to going to their new homes. All of our pets are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, heartworm checked(dogs) and dewormed. We also microchip our dogs so that they can always find their way home. Big and small, we work to rehome them all. We are always in need of donations so if you can help us to help our pets, please contact us! The more people who get involved, the more pets that we can save! You can also see our pets and/or fill out our adoption application on We look forward to hearing from you and making that "forever match"!

Come Meet Our Pets...

We operate from our home so our pets can be seen by appointment only. Please call or e-mail(prefer) to schedule a time to visit.

Our Adoption Process...

We require an adoption application to be filled out and approved prior to any adoption. Our adoption fee for our dogs is $125.00 and up and for most of our cats that still require vetting it is $75.00. We currently have a special adoption fee for our cats who are already completely vetted(spayed/neutered and UTD vacc )You can adopt one of these kitties for ONLY $25.00!!! If for any reason a pet that you adopt can not remain with you, we require that the pet be returned to Paws & Claws to be rehomed. We do NOT give refunds for any reason so please consider adoption carefully before you take a pet home. We also ONLY accept CASH as payment for our adoption fees. Our main requirement to adopt is LOVE! If you can offer love to a needy pet, please consider adoption. Your reward will be a devoted friend for life.
