Daisy's Story...
Meet our little character Daisy. This poor soul has been in foster care for months! To be upfront Daisy is not the perfect dog. But, she has come a long long way. We found her as a dog extremely shut down, unwilling to be lovingly touched, and in need of urgent medical care. Due to the nature of her life, presumably in isolation with little human interaction; it was more than little Daisy should have had to endure. Daisy's forever family will need to be calm, trusting, and patient care giver who will let her blossom at her own pace. She currently lives in a multi dog family, is cat tolerant, frolics on daily walks but loves her nap time. Daisy is not on any medication and will be a low maintenance companion. She loves her crate for dreaming throughout the night. She is a minimal barker and is accustomed to riding shotgun for her outings. Can you give this girl a chance? She would love to be home for the holidays!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Daisy, a Wilmington Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Wilmington, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Wilmington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wilmington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wilmington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wilmington paves the way for another one to be saved.
