Ace's Story...
Approximate Birth Date is May 2, 2016. Ace is a beautiful, sweet black and tan tiger tabby that loves attention and loves to play. He was found by a group of friends swimming late in the evening at a pool. The kitten came up to the edge of the pool and began talking and interacting with the boys. There were no houses near by and the kitten acted like it was in need of food so Ethan took the kitten home with him. His parents surrendered Ace to SCKRescue around 9:30 pm that same evening. They currently have 3 cats and Ethan's father doesn't believe in having 4. : ) Ace has been combo blood tested for FELV (neg) and FIV (neg) and has received his first distemper vaccinations, neutered and has received his rabies vaccine. He has also been treated for fleas first with Capstar and later with Frontline Plus, bathed, ear checked and cleaned and dewormed. Ace weight is 5.6 pounds.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ace, a Harrisburg American Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in Harrisburg, or seeking a American Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Harrisburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Harrisburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Harrisburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Harrisburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
