Bing LOVES his ball (as evidenced by the video on our Facebook Page) and Bing would LOVE a family of his own to throw the ball to him all day long! Bing is 4.5 years old, in great health, and needs an experienced, structured family to thrive in. Bing is high energy and needs a strong leader for a person. Bing is a very handsome, well mannered boy who has had a good deal of obedience training. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Bing, please submit an application at www.weimrescue.com.

Itchy back and no thumbs?! Sometimes a good roll is all you can do to get that itchy spot! Here is Bing, having the best time over the weekend, enjoying an afternoon with one of our volunteers. Bing is 4 years old, high energy, and needs a forever home with someone who is experienced with the Weimaraner breed. Bing needs lots of attention, exercise, and structure and would do best in an adult only home. If you think you can provide Bing with a foster or forever home (and scratch that itchy spot on his back!), please submit an application at www.weimrescue.com.

Sweet Bing is looking for a foster or forever home! Bing is 4.5 years old, VERY smart (he knows lots and lots of tricks!), high energy and does well with other well behaved dogs. Bing will need an active home with breed experience and plenty of structure. If interested in fostering or adopting Bing, please submit an application at www.weimrescue.com.

What do these three handsome boys - Bing, Rooney, and Silky - have in common? All three are ready for a foster or forever home! These big boys are all between 3-5 years old; Silky is a very easy going boy while Bing and Rooney are more active and intense. Silky gets along well with everyone and Bing and Rooney do well with well behaved dogs. WRS would really like to see these boys in a home, and not just for their benefit. Our boarding numbers are very high and we are having to limit our intake of other weims in need until we can get our numbers down. If you have fostered for WRS before and are interested in helping out, please message us! If interested in adopting, please submit an application at www.weimrescue.com.

Please welcome BING to WRS! Bing is a 4.5 yo male weim who is neutered, heartworm negative, and in excellent health. Bing does well with well behaved dogs and would do best in a home with breed experience. Bing is well mannered, knows several obedience commands, but does need some work on a leash. Bing needs a little bit of time to warm up to strangers, but he is a sweet, affectionate dog. If you are interested in fostering or adopting this handsome boy, please submit an application at www.weimrescue.com.

About Weimaraner Rescue of the South

About Our Rescue Group...

Weimaraner Rescue of the South (WRS) is an all-volunteer, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to saving Weimaraners in need in Alabama, Mississippi, and parts of Louisiana, Tennessee, and Georgia and placing them into loving forever homes. We have been saving Weimaraners throughout our footprint for more than 10 years.

Our priority is to rescue Weimaraners who find themselves in animal controls and high-kill shelters in Alabama, Mississippi, and parts of Tennessee, Louisiana, and Georgia. All Weimaraners in our care are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and treated for any medical issues they might have including but not limited to heartworm disease, orthopedic concerns, and vision issues. Our efforts are funded by adoption fees and donations from "Weim-loving" people like you.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are not a shelter, therefore, we are not in one central location. We place our dogs in loving foster homes throughout the deep South so we can learn about each one enabling us to adopt them to their perfect family. Alabama hosts the majority of our rescues although we do have foster homes throughout our Southern footprint. Our dogs are not available for visitors unless an adoption application has been approved for them specifically.

Our Adoption Process...

Are you ready to adopt? Make sure you do your homework on this breed before taking this step as this is not the breed for the average household and you must be committed to their needs as well as your own. Still want to add a Weimaraner to your family? Great! Fill out a WRS Adoption Application to begin the adoption process with us. You will be contacted by one of our volunteers to begin the approval process which includes a veterinary background check, phone interview, and home visit.

ADOPTION FEES: EFFECTIVE FEBRUARY 1, 2016 OUR ADOPTION FEE FOR PUPPIES 6 MONTHS AND YOUNGER IS $375 WITH A $100 REFUNDABLE SPAY/NEUTER CONTRACT, $300 FOR ADULT WEIMARANERS, SENIORS AND MIXED BREEDS $225. This includes microchip, spay/neuter, and Heartworm prevention. All dogs have been fully vetted and treated for any medical issues of which we are aware.
