We at WRS are VERY proud of these two boys - Rocket, the beautiful blue, and Bing, the handsome gray. Both of these boys came to WRS (separately), having suffered neglect and mistreatment in their previous lives and Bing and Rocket both had some significant socialization issues. Thanks to the tremendous dedication and efforts of some of our fantastic volunteers, both boys have made incredible strides. Rocket now gets along great with other well behaved dogs (he didn't like other dogs when he first came to us) and Bing now thoroughly enjoys being with people and is a sweet, affectionate boy (he came to us very aloof and distrusting). Bing and Rocket are both about 5 years old and would thrive in homes with previous breed experience and no small children or cats. They could be only dogs or live happily with another well behaved dog. If interested in fostering or adopting Bing or Rocket, please submit an application at www.weimrescue.com.

Bing and one of our dedicated volunteers went on a field trip yesterday for a prospective foster home and Bing had a great time and behaved himself very well. While high energy, Bing did settle down (and he is an excellent car rider!). On top of that, WRS also has a newly approved foster home, so we're excited that one of our rescues will be moving to a foster home in the next several days. Bing is about 5 years old and needs an active, structured, adult only home. Bing LOVES to play ball and he does fine around other well-behaved dogs. If interested in fostering or adopting Bing, please submit an application at www.weimrescue.com.

Nothing puts a smile on your face like a good nub waggin which you can see on Bing and Kacy's video on our Facebook page! Bing and Kacy were super excited to spend some time with our volunteers as they know these visits bring treats, pets, and lots of fun time! Both Bing and Kacy are available for foster and/or adoption. Kacy is the two year old blue female on the left and Bing is the five year old gray male on the right. Kacy needs an active home with another dog. Bing needs an adult only home with or without other dogs. If interested in either dog, please submit an application at www.weimrescue.com.

Handsome Bing has been waiting (mostly) patiently for a foster or forever home for a while now. Five years old, Bing is very high energy and LOVES to play ball. He would also make a fantastic running partner. Bing needs a weim-experienced, adult only home that is very active and structured. Bing does fine with other well-behaved dogs; we don't think he would be suitable for a home with cats. If interested in fostering or adopting Bing, please submit an application at www.weimrescue.com.

Bing is a 5yo, very handsome, very focused boy! Bing is a high energy, intense Weimaraner who needs a home where he has lots of exercise and structure. He loves to spend time with his people and is extremely engaged. He needs a breed experienced home, a fenced yard, and someone who is looking for a devoted best friend. Bing would love a home where he could have a job or participate in agility activities. If interested in fostering or adopting Bing, please submit an application at www.weimrescue.com.

He's a very intense boy who enjoys playing ball and has energy to burn! He does well with other well mannered dogs. Bing also needs an adult only home. Bing LOVES his ball and Bing would LOVE a family of his own to throw the ball to him all day long! Bing is 4.5 years old, in great health, and needs an experienced, structured family to thrive in. Bing is high energy and needs a strong leader for a person. Bing is a very handsome, well mannered boy who has had a good deal of obedience training. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Bing, please submit an application at www.weimrescue.com.  Can't foster or adopt but want to support WRS and help these weims in need? Itchy back and no thumbs?! Sometimes a good roll is all you can do to get that itchy spot! Here is Bing, having the best time over the weekend, enjoying an afternoon with one of our volunteers. Bing is 4 years old, high energy, and needs a forever home with someone who is experienced with the Weimaraner breed. Bing needs lots of attention, exercise, and structure and would do best in an adult only home. If you think you can provide Bing with a foster or forever home (and scratch that itchy spot on his back!), please submit an application at www.weimrescue.com.

Bing will need an active home with breed experience and plenty of structure. If interested in fostering or adopting Bing, please submit an application at www.weimrescue.com.

What do these three handsome boys - Bing, Rooney, and Silky - have in common? All three are ready for a foster or forever home! These big boys are all between 3-5 years old; Silky is a very easy going boy while Bing and Rooney are more active and intense. Silky gets along well with everyone and Bing and Rooney do well with well behaved dogs. WRS would really like to see these boys in a home, and not just for their benefit. Our boarding numbers are very high and we are having to limit our intake of other weims in need until we can get our numbers down. If you have fostered for WRS before and are interested in helping out, please message us! If interested in adopting, please submit an application at www.weimrescue.com.

Please welcome BING to WRS! Bing is a 4.5 yo male weim who is neutered, heartworm negative, and in excellent health. Bing does well with well behaved dogs and would do best in a home with breed experience. Bing is well mannered, knows several obedience commands, but does need some work on a leash. Bing needs a little bit of time to warm up to strangers, but he is a sweet, affectionate dog. If you are interested in fostering or adopting this handsome boy, please submit an application at www.weimrescue.com.

About Weimaraner Rescue of the South

About Our Rescue Group...

Weimaraner Rescue of the South (WRS) is an all-volunteer, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to saving Weimaraners in need in Alabama, Mississippi, and parts of Louisiana, Tennessee, and Georgia and placing them into loving forever homes. We have been saving Weimaraners throughout our footprint for more than 10 years.

Our priority is to rescue Weimaraners who find themselves in animal controls and high-kill shelters in Alabama, Mississippi, and parts of Tennessee, Louisiana, and Georgia. All Weimaraners in our care are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and treated for any medical issues they might have including but not limited to heartworm disease, orthopedic concerns, and vision issues. Our efforts are funded by adoption fees and donations from "Weim-loving" people like you.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are not a shelter, therefore, we are not in one central location. We place our dogs in loving foster homes throughout the deep South so we can learn about each one enabling us to adopt them to their perfect family. Alabama hosts the majority of our rescues although we do have foster homes throughout our Southern footprint. Our dogs are not available for visitors unless an adoption application has been approved for them specifically.

Our Adoption Process...

Are you ready to adopt? Make sure you do your homework on this breed before taking this step as this is not the breed for the average household and you must be committed to their needs as well as your own. Still want to add a Weimaraner to your family? Great! Fill out a WRS Adoption Application to begin the adoption process with us. You will be contacted by one of our volunteers to begin the approval process which includes a veterinary background check, phone interview, and home visit.

ADOPTION FEES: EFFECTIVE FEBRUARY 1, 2016 OUR ADOPTION FEE FOR PUPPIES 6 MONTHS AND YOUNGER IS $375 WITH A $100 REFUNDABLE SPAY/NEUTER CONTRACT, $300 FOR ADULT WEIMARANERS, SENIORS AND MIXED BREEDS $225. This includes microchip, spay/neuter, and Heartworm prevention. All dogs have been fully vetted and treated for any medical issues of which we are aware.
