My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Delilah is a 2 year old Shih Tzu/Jack Russel Terrier.

Her coat is wiry, she's very independent, is not a snuggler (we're asked a lot if she likes to snuggle), likes to look out of windows to bark at the goings on outside, and can be quite bossy with other dogs. Delilah lives with other dogs and is okay with them, but she does not back down from scuffles and can be snippy with other dogs if she feels they're being rude, but can also be very playful (although she does like to be the one to initiate the play) so isn't necessarily a dog who could be left alone with other dogs when no one is home, but has no issues when she's being supervised.

To add to her other issues, she's also wary of new people. Her reaction to strangers ranges from cautious to terrified and there's no rhyme or reason as to who she likes and who she finds a bit scary. She is very sweet with people she knows and you can do anything to her once she trusts you, but she needs a home where they understand that she will need a month (give or take) to settle into her new home and she also needs someone who will be able to read her body language and remove her from situations where she's uncomfortable (her cues tend to be subtle).

Delilah is looking for a home with no cats, no children (she tends to be frightened of children of all ages) and a home with few/infrequent visitors.
We understand it sounds like a lot of negatives, but she really is a wonderful, sweet, low maintenance dog in the right home and we're quite certain the right home is out there for her!
