My name is JAX, and I’m a 3 year old black and tan dachshund. I’m not your average puppy that can run and play because I was born with a condition known as kyphosis. I have an abnormal curvature to my spine which makes it impossible to walk, but that doesn’t mean I wasn’t worth saving. I was evaluated by a veterinarian specialty hospital to see if I could possibly become strong enough to use a cart. They did not think so, but my rescue had a special cart made for me and I love it. It took me sometime, but I am learning how to use my wheels. I’m looking for a home where someone is not gone for long hours every day, I really need a stay at home mommy. I would like a doggy sibling who would enjoy a warm body to curl up next to, or at the very least a doggy friend to hang out with when none of the humans are home. Foster Mommy takes me out in front of our house most days for a daily jaunt across the lawn. She entices me with a treat to encourage me to stay as mobile as possible. I’m pretty content hanging out with my foster siblings. One of my highlights of my day is when we go for a walk……….of course I ride in the stroller, but it’s lovely to be outside with the sun on my face. For the most part I’m a pretty good boy…… what other dog do you know that pretty much stays where you put him! If you think you could be my person just know that I would love to give you furry hugs and carefree kisses every day for the rest of my life. I just want a “furever” home like Foster Mom is promising – where there are no worries, and my humans are happy with me. Foster Mom has convinced me that there is somebody for everybody in this world. Could you be my somebody?

We do not have a kennel or facility to visit, all dogs are kept in foster homes until their forever homes are found.
Adoption Process: Once an approved application
is on file, we will then set up a home visit. At that time we will bring the dog to the home in which you will all be sharing. We ask the entire family to be there that day. If we all agree on the placement, then the dog will stay with you that day.
