Jake's Story...
"Jake" is a magnificent one-year old male Border Collie mix who was brought to the HSOV on August 9, 2016 after he was found in the Belpre Ohio area. This handsome young man has a black medium smooth coat, a long fluffy tail, and an adorable face with expressive brown eyes and large erect ears. "Jake" has a sweet easygoing personality. He was a pleasure to photograph as he seemed to instinctively know the best poses to show off his natural beauty :) "Jake" walks well on a leash. He weighs 39.6 lbs. and isn't a very large boy when you see him in person. "Jake" will be available for adoption on August 12, 2016 if he is not reclaimed before that date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jake, a Marietta Border Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Terrier for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Border Terrier dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Terrier breeders who help with Border Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
