Hi there, my name is Benny and I am 5 ½ year old Shih Tzu. I was born on March 4, 2011. My birthday is known because my real Mom got me from a store that sells puppies and she knew my birthdate. She had to give me up because she was moving and couldn’t take me with her. IAR came to help me instead of me going to a shelter which is so much better that way I am not scared. I am now in a foster home that has other dogs and cats, I get along with them. I am not food aggressive and I walk really well on my leash. When I meet new dogs or people I might bark but give me a command or a squirt of a squirt gun (I don’t like that) and I get quiet. I settle down then. Just give me a chance to settle into a new environment and then I am fine. When I 1st came into foster care I had some health issues that my owner didn’t know about but the nice IAR Volunteers took care of my vet needs. Every few weeks I might have a seizure. The vet says they are not often enough to give me medicine for it and I am okay before and after this happens to me. My foster Mom can explain to you what it is like since I don't know what happens. . I’m fine now but because I’m a little dog I need to have my teeth be taken care of and my breeding I need to go to the groomers. I don’t mind the groomers but I don’t like my nails trimmed. I do like to have my belly rubbed and have some attention. I like you to pet me and hold me. I like to lay by your feet, curled up while you watch TV. So can you call my foster Mom so you can come meet me? We can go for a walk and then when we are done we can take a little nap together? Thanks, Benny.
