Sandy's Story...

Sandy was found on dirt road trying to fend off 4 other larger dogs.  When we stopped to chase off other dogs, she jumped right into the vehicle!   She was scanned for a microchip - none to be found.  So she is now part of Casa de Perro's available dogs.

She has had her first 2 rounds of boosters.  And according to her baby canine teeth that haven't all fallen out yet - she is roughly 5-6 months old.   Once her adult canines are coming in, she will be scheduled with our vet to be spayed, get her rabies vaccination and her microchipped.

Sandy was rather timid when she first arrived, however she now romps and wrestles with all the other fosters.  She minds well-but is definetly still a puppy!!!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sandy, a Alvarado Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever for sale in Alvarado, or seeking a Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Alvarado.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Alvarado already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Alvarado breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Alvarado paves the way for another one to be saved.
