My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Wesley is a very sweet young boy who came up as a stray from Kentucky on 8/7. He is recently neutered and about 8 pounds. He appears to be about 75% Maltese and 25% West Highland Terrier. He is very underweight and would probably be healthy at about 12 pounds. His age was estimated at 2 years but he acts like a silly puppy and is likely younger than that. He is not housetrained. He will go to the bathroom outside but inside also. You will never see him lift his leg in the house but he soaks his belly band several times per day. Maltese dogs are beautiful with silky fur and a disposition bred as a companion/house dog but mature late. They are notorious for taking a long time to housetrain even with an early start. He is playful and good with other small dogs but knows how to stand his ground. He loves to be carried and to play with squeaky toys and chew bones and snuggle up next to you in the bed at night. He does not like to be crated. He does not bark a lot but does howl. He would make a great companion dog with someone without young children who might hurt or scare him and who has a lot of patience and understands how to gently housetrain a dog over a long period of time. If you can meet the challenges of this beautiful boy you will be rewarded with a lifetime of silky snuggles, big brown eyes, and a loyal friend.
