Leo (Neutered)'s Story...
"Leo" is a handsome male kitten who was surrendered by his owner on June 8, 2016 along with Bright Eyes (a young adult female kitty) and Seymour (a tiny black kitten is who surely Leo's brother). The kittens were just 6-weeks old at that time, so they have spent much of their childhood in our shelter. "Leo" has a white-and-dark brown tabby coat, a long tail, and a cute kitten face which is beautifully marked. He has a playful outgoing personality. "Leo and Seymour" are sharing a cage with Splat The Cat who is the same age/size as them, and they have accepted him as their brother :) "Leo" will be available for adoption when he is ready to be spayed. He and his buddies would be available for foster/rescue at any time. Rescue groups may contact our Feline Rescue Coordinator via email (sharonpaul2@suddenlink.net). We can usually help with transportation and also provide combo testing without charge to rescues/fosters. UPDATE: "Leo" was combo tested on October 2, 2016 and is negative for feline leukemia, FIV, and heartworm. He was neutered on October 12, 2016 and was also given rabies vaccine. He weighed 8.2 lbs. on that date. "Leo" (and his best friends Seymour and Splat The Cat) are currently at the WeLovPets Store, Lafayette Plaza, Marietta Ohio where they are available for adoption through the HSOV.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Leo (Neutered), a Marietta Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
