Papa is a gentle older guy that likes to get belly rubs and be cuddled. But don’t let his size and age fool you. Papa is a little dog with a big personality. He is very alert and lets you know when someone comes to the house. He is slow to warm up to new people, and does not seem to care for children. Perhaps their fast movements and activity level scare him. Since he is one of several dogs removed from a neglectful home, we don’t know what kind of commotion he may have been exposed to. Papa loves to go for car rides, walks, lounging in the sun, and food. He lives with 8 other dogs and has no issues with any of them. Papa is excellent in the home and keeps his crate clean and tidy. He has no real behavioral issues other than being vocal and reserved around strangers. However, with firm correction and the occasional squirt of water from a spray bottle, minds very well. Papa is UTD on his vaccines, is neutered and had a teeth cleaning along with some extractions. He eats very well despite having few teeth left. He is crated trained and willingly goes to his crate and sleeps there all night.
Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $69.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information. Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
