Yankee's Story...
Looking for a merry and cheerful furry companion? Introducing…Yankee! It’s hard not to notice this little fella. Yankee has his very own signature doggie smile and a pretty amazing hairdo! Add charisma and this guy is tough to resist. Yankee reminds us of a teenager. He loves to get out and mix it up all day long but he doesn’t forget to catch up on lovin’ with his parents at the end of the day. Yankee is about a year and a half old and full of spunk and energy. He gets along with other dogs with a proper introduction but can be a little stubborn at times (like most teenagers). Another dog who is submissive would be the perfect pal for him. Yankee needs a family who will continue working with him while he matures. His love for life, sunshine and play will warm your heart.

If you're interested in adopting this pet please fill out our matchmaking questionnaire at (www.rescuefromthehart.org). We are volunteer based and will do our best to get back to you within 72 hours. Please do not call as our phone is intended for emergencies only. If we feel that one of our dogs is a good match we will set up a private meet and greet. We do not have a physical location where you can come and meet all the dogs at once, so meet and greets may take a little time to coordinate. Our requested adoption donation is $300 and all adopters are required to fill out an adoption agreement.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Yankee, a Van Nuys Bichon Frise dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bichon Frise for sale in Van Nuys, or seeking a Bichon Frise dog from a breeder in Van Nuys.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Van Nuys already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Van Nuys breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bichon Frise breeders who help with Bichon Frise rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Van Nuys paves the way for another one to be saved.
