ADOPTED ON 01-21-17 - This beautiful little guy with the most unique blue eyes that seem to change color was left behind like garbage with his handsome brother and adorable sister at a rental house when some thoughtless tenants decided they weren’t worth keeping. They survived on their own for a while until a call came in and they were rescued. Unfortunately, they were in horrible shape. They were skinny, covered in fleas, and almost bald from a bad case of mange. No puppy should ever have to endure the discomfort of these parasites, and their personalities now are testament to what sweet natured and loving pups they will be when they become a part of a family.

Tank is a Vzsla / Lab mix who just loves to wrestle and tumble around with his siblings. He is the most outgoing of the three siblings and is usually the one to instigate playtime or adventure. He checks everything out before anyone else can. Tank is very outgoing and playful. He gets along with everyone and all the other dogs at his foster home. He will be a big boy, but appears very smart and eager to please. He will be easy to train in his new home and will sure to be a joy to have around. Will you open your heart and home to Tank and add him to your family? Tank would most likely love to have children to play with. He would be quite an amazing addition to any household!

What is it that dogs have that human’s lack? Tank previous owner discarded him and left him to fend for himself. Dogs give comfort to people when they are upset. It is a fact dog lovers have known for a very long time. A study was done that revealed that dogs truly do respond to human tears and will naturally try to reassure a distressed person. It also turns out dogs will try and comfort anyone who cries, not just their owner. Although there is no way to know for sure if dogs can understand why someone is sad and needs comforting, the study does point out that dogs respond to human emotions.

Thanks to his hard-working foster family, he is healthy and growing fast. Our southern rescuers are the front line of angels that save our dogs, they give their time, money and most important, their hearts to the dogs they save. They work long hours to take care of all our dogs and give with their whole heart and truly loves each and every one of the dogs. They ask for nothing and RDV is truly honored to work with such special people.

Tank deserves a loving family who will show him what a truly happy ending is. He has come a long way indeed, and should be loved as a true member of the family. This adorable guy is looking for a loving family that will dote on him and treat him as he deserves--a lifetime cherished member. Our rescue works from our hearts for our dogs; it is the least we can do for them because they deserve nothing less. We owe it to our dogs that the wonderful people who stand to be the last chapter of their rescue and the first chapter of their new forever lives deserve him.

ABOUT THE VIZSLA BREED

The Vizsla's strong elegant body, alert face and unusual coat color are a striking presence. But the Vizsla’s isn't just about good looks. This all-purpose dog forms strong attachments and loves to be a part of family activities, whether a game of Frisbee or a run in the park. Your Vizsla puppy is both smart and loving. He'll be up for anything, as long as he can do it with you. They are low to moderate shedders and need only weekly brushings to keep them free of loose hair. They rarely need baths and don't have a strong doggy odor.

CHILDREN & DOGS
Vizsla’s are loving and gentle. This breed is reliable with children, able to adapt quickly to family life, and is generally good with other dogs. They usually have a sensitive temperament, they are alert and responsive. In the past few years this breed has become popular dog.

TEMPERAMENT
Vizslas are gentle, energetic dogs that form strong bonds with their families. They have been known to follow their owners around the house… all day. They like to move about and play—but they easily adapt to family life and get along with everybody. They are easy to train, as they love to please its owner.

PERSONALITY
Though attached to their owners, Vizslas are generally friendly with other people and pets. They are alert to movements and sounds around the house, of course, but they don’t make the best watchdogs.

Talk About Vizslas

Affectionate and Lankily Clumsy
I love my two Vizsla rescue doggies, a brother and sister. These two came into my life at the best time and have been my buddies through thick and thin. While they aren't conducive to sleeping in, their companionship is one that I treasure!

They are definitely "Velcro" dogs as they love being with me all the time and are extremely affectionate. Having the bed to myself is not an option with these two! They are beautiful, with a sense of "Bambi on ice" as they are at times clumsy with their lanky legs. I always receive compliments on how striking they are when we are out walking or at the local bark park.
~Laurie, owner of two Vizslas

Walks are great, but chasing the ball is better
Vizslas are the most affectionate, loving dogs anyone could possibly ever want. They love everyone, but they have a strong protective instinct with strangers or when someone comes to the house or rings the doorbell. I take my vizsla camping and she loves it. She is the best watchdog.

Vizslas love for you to go out and throw the ball a couple times a day, go for rides in the car, and just generally be with them almost all the time. Walks are great, too, but chasing the ball is better. My Vizsla is the best companion dog I have ever had, and they are clean and smell good, too!
~Jan M. B., owner of a Vizsla

Beautiful, loving velcro dog
I absolutely love my Viszla. She is the most affectionate dog I have ever known. I take her with me almost everywhere I go and she loves riding in the truck. We've even taken her on several overnights and she does well in a hotel room. I would recommend this breed to anyone who has time to spend exercising them. We walk daily and she has the run of our fenced-in yard. She loves everyone.
~Ken M., owner of a Viszla

Loving, affectionate, and very clean
Our Red Lab/Vizsla mix is the most affectionate dog we've ever had. He's a total Velcro dog, follows us everywhere. He's always ready to go. He acts like a cat, always grooming himself, Vizslas are notorious for doing this --they're extremely clean. He's very protective of us and his home. He could probably be a bomb dog because he'll smell and find anything! We love him so much.
~Debbie c, owner of a Vizsla mix

About Our Rescue

These dogs deserve all of our attention, and in Rescue Dog Village, we are committed to our adopters and our dogs equally. We offer full disclosure and hope to make the best matches possible. Please know our adoption fees never cover our expenses. We rely on the generosity of our adopters and supporters to help us help the dogs.

Our rescue is ONLY in the business of offering FULL DISCLOSURE to adopters, and expects and hopes to engage your questions and concerns fully. We owe it to the dogs we rescue and all the wonderful families/adopters who might consider welcoming our charges into their hearts and home. Our dogs are waiting for that ideal forever home where they will be cherished as deserving family members. It's sad these second chances are even necessary for these dogs, but we are committed to them and will devote the time and energy to their rehoming, and not just MOVE them to save more dogs. We diligently and responsibly seek good matches as we don't want to re-home the dog again. These animals have already endured more than they should have, and through no fault of their own. It behooves us to be honest and forthright, and we appreciate the same in return from applicants. It's that winning combination of reciprocal trust and respect that allows for successful placements to be made. Happy adopters translate to happy dogs, and that's our goal!

Our rescue volunteers will be more than honored to be in touch with you directly and promptly, after receiving your application and conducting a mandatory a veterinarian check. If you have never owned a dog before, please submit your application regardless, and we will be in touch with you as soon as possible. TAKE NOTE YOU SHOULD CHECK YOUR SPAM AS SOME RESPONSES FROM US WIND UP THERE WE'VE DISCOVERED. Also, take care to contact your veterinarian to let them know a member of rescue will be inquiring about your pet history!

Thank you for respecting that we all donate our time to saving these animals, and understand we value your philanthropic and compassionate desire to help be part of the rescue team. That said, you'll understand why we are committed to the well-being of our charges and consider this veterinarian check mandatory. If you are a first-time dog owner, we will work with you every step of the way! ADVOCACY AND EDUCATION ARE AS MUCH A PART OF RESPONSIBLE RESCUE AS ADOPTION! And it takes a RESCUE VILLAGE to help the most dogs possible in a thorough manner to ensure success on all fronts, and then some! It is an awful feeling to fail a dog, and we can't continue rescue if we don't do everything we can to ensure good matches for the dogs and tender families who might adopt them. THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING.

Although we are an extremely small rescue group, we understand and respect your family's eagerness to be in touch and learn as much as you can about the dogs you are considering adopting. Our very experienced and devoted trainer will be happy to share all aspects of OUR RESCUE DOGS to determine compatibility once you've submitted your application, and another of our volunteers will explain the whole process of our rescue and answer any questions you might have as well

If you have the time and love to offer this extremely bright dog who can make you laugh for hours at his antics, PLEASE APPLY TO BE CONSIDERED FOR A RESCUE DOG VILLAGE DOG AND GIVE ONE A HOME. Our dogs deserve all that a committed family can offer. Make no mistake about it, this is one spectacular dog!

Please contact RescueDogVillage@yahoo.com and we will be happy to return your correspondence, but please submit the application now so we can have that information as a starting base for our dialogue.

THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING RESCUE AS A MEANS OF WELCOMING YOUR NEXT FOUR-LEGGED FRIEND INTO YOUR LIFE!

ALL interested adopters MUST complete an application; agree to a vet reference check, phone interview and home visit. ALL family members MUST be in attendance for home visits - no exceptions. This helps us get to know everyone in the family so that we can help find the right dog for you
