Introducing Checkers, a little lady that has had more than her share of challenges to get through in the game of life, but she has come out victorious! This happy pup came to ARF with multiple medical problems but has proved that she is the champion of all by recovering well in foster care. Her new forever home will need to continue to monitor this for a few weeks, so of course a detailed health history will be available to approved applicants.
Checkers is playful, cuddly, and lives in harmony within her foster home which includes 4 humans, multiple dogs and 2 cats. She values her treats a lot and so it will be important for her to continue working on learning that there are more than enough to go around. She is crate trained and sleeps there during the night or when her family goes out for short periods in the day. Checkers almost has potty training perfected and responds well to positive reinforcement. She is active and loves her walks or zooming around the fenced yard. Because she is still learning her doggy manners and can be jumpy at times, it is probably best if she were to have an adoptive home without toddler-sized children. She can’t wait to snuggle in with her own family!
Checkers has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and received de-wormer. She will make a happy and loving addition to anyone’s “team roster”, so please consider visiting www.arfontario.com, and clicking on the ‘adopt-me’ button below to meet this goofy and affectionate game pup.
