Tex's Story...
Hi! I'm Tex. A 2 yr old neutered male. I need a forever family.Humans say I am adorable. Whatever that means. I know sit, down and shake. I'm ok walking on a leash. I just want to practice a lot. Do you want to take me on walks everyday?Oh, I love to play and snuggle during nap time. I'm crate trained and house trained (that's a plus, huh?). I am not sure if I have ever met a cat or kids, but other dogs don't bother me. I'm adjusting from being in other homes and then the shelter. That was crazy and scary.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tex, a Austin German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Austin, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Austin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Austin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Austin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Austin paves the way for another one to be saved.
