Regina was pregnant when she was found living in a colony of homeless cats; since she was a friendly girl, she was taken into foster care—and good thing, because her pregnancy turned very complicated and life-threatening. After several setbacks, Regina needed to have a C-section to bring her babies into the world, but in that alien environment wasn’t sure about accepting them. The hospital staff set up a room where her foster mom spent 13 hours lying on the floor next to Regina and her newborns encouraging her to accept them and let them nurse. One by one, Regina welcomed her kittens, and once the bond was established Regina was a doting mother. In fact, while three of her kittens are now grown and adopted, she does not wish to part with the fourth and last, Rocco. The connection has lasted long past when most mother cats would be ready to move on, but this mother-son duo has become a fixture.

Regina is a very loving and nurturing cat—toward her kittens and toward humans. She enjoys spending lap time and getting pampered. She deserves to be pampered and cherished after going through so much. Regina will gaze up into your face, meeting your eyes with her beautiful ones and just melting your heart. Her curled cauliflower ear, a permanent reminder of times of hardship when she likely had severe ear mites that went untreated, adds a quirky charm to her beauty.
Rocco is such a sweet, loving, and affectionate kitten. He loves to cuddle with his human when he’s not cuddling with his mama. He’s playful and energetic with just the right balance so that he’s not too mischievous. Rocco is curious and ever so adorable when he spots a fly buzzing around—he’ll go into "hunting mode" with his jumps and leaps (usually futile) as he tries to pounce on it. It’s a habit he learned from Regina. Laser lights and dangly toys are favorites of both.
Regina and Rocco share a special bond and connection that is clear every day. They MUST be adopted together.

Regina and Rocco have lived comfortably among other welcoming cats and small dogs, though would prefer not to live in too big a crowd so that they can each get lots of human attention. They do not wish to live with children.

Regina and Rocco have an enormous capacity for love and affection--they are looking for that special home with people who will love them to the moon and back!
