Shylo is a beautiful 4 year old plot hound mix. She is very loving girl! She just wants to be with people. She is so sweet, calm, and good with kids and other dogs. Shylo prefers dogs not in her face and to just co-exist with them. She likes to run and play in the yard but would rather just hang out with her people. Shylo is the mother of Brownie who is also available for adoption. Shylo would make an excellent addition and family member!

Shylo is a little cuddle bug who always wants to be around her foster mom, no matter what she’s doing.  She is content just to lay at the feet of her person while they’re working, until they are ready to get up again.  She is very good with other dogs, just a little possessive of “her things” until you correct her.  Then she’s ok.  She knows how to sit and shake, and listens pretty well.  She pulls at her leash when out on a walk, so a strong leader and/or dog training classes would be good for her.  She only chews her toys, and has left my toddler son’s toys alone.  She is potty trained, and has only had a few accidents while adjusting to her new foster home.  She is crate trained.  She doesn’t jump on the furniture unless you invite her up. She is the perfect family dog.

Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $69.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.  Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption process requires a completed Adoption Application, vet check, and home visit prior to adoption. If an adoption occurs there is an Adoption Contract the adopter will need to sign. We do not adopt our animals out on a first-come-first-served basis or do on-site adoptions. We strive to place our animals in an adoptive home that will best meet the animal's needs.
