My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MILLIE is a 4 year old spayed yellow female Lab who weighs 62 pounds. Millie is ~3-5 years old and was a stray to the shelter. Millie knows "sit" and is very treat motivated so should be easy to train. Millie is good with other dogs. Cats are unknown. Millie comes from the country with no exposure to big cities. Placement is limited to stand alone single family homes in a suburban neighborhood or rural area. We have no history of Millie living with children so she is approved for kids 10 +.

Update:: Millie loves attention from her people and loves to play with other dogs! She is sweet and loving and gentle, but also has lots of "go get 'em" energy. Today, she wants to show off what she has learned.

Update: Millie responds to the name "Xena" or "Zee" and is a truly pretty and super sweet girl, very loving with people (she's got the lab lean down) and is very friendly with other pups. In fact, she would highly prefer to be in a family with another young, playful, energetic dog to play with, because she LOVES to play!!! Her foster dogs love to play with her, but they are almost 8 and can't keep up with her. She would do best in a house with a fence so they can play freely on a regular basis. She has a fairly high prey drive so she will be much happier in a house without small animals (cats, ferrets, etc). Millie (aka Xena) really is quite smart and a fast learner, and is already solid in commands for sit, down, come and stay, as well as combinations of those commands. She likes to chew bones, likes squeaky toys, and will play ball, though sometimes she gives the ball back to her dog friends rather than her people. She is also a shadow for her primary human - always nearby if not playing with her dog friends. Millie#2 enjoys giving gentle hugs (super sweet) by standing on her hind legs against people. This beautiful girl has the best head and face ever, and she loves for you to snuggle it! She will do best in a home where people aren't gone more than 5 or 6 hours at a time, with a fenced yard and another energetic dog to play with and no cats. From the transporter: Millie is a big girl and so sweet! She rode very well in the car.
