Shelby is about 4-5 years old, spayed, current on her shots. She was rescued out of Battle Mountain Nevada and brought to Reno. She had a very large tumor on her back leg that was so bad she had to have her leg removed (over $2200 later) and has healed up and has been doing great ever since. She getting stronger and stronger.
She is a total love bug, loves little dogs and appreciates her humans and other dogs her size that respect her space and don't try to jump all over her. Not sure how she is with cats, but she seems she'd be pretty laid back. She went to a new home for three weeks with two other labs and did great, the only issue was they had hardwood throughout their home and she kept slipping so bad that she decided not to walk very much and grew weak, so they brought her back because they wanted her to be strong and stay strong, they couldn't provide enough exercise and the kind of flooring she needed to be more stable. They cried when they brought her back as they had fallen in love with her.
She would love to be in a home with maybe a dog or two, she doesn't care for dogs in her face but doesn't mind the ones that sit beside her and don't pester her to wits end. She truly loves to be petted, to have her belly and her leg nub rubbed. She is potty trained and as long as you take her out before bed and first thing in the morning she will never let you down. She needs a forever home and deserves a great life where she can maybe go swimming, walking, and play on a regular basis for the strength of her three legs. She doesn't mind children too much as long as they aren't all over her.
A rehoming fee of $100 is appreciated and an adoption contract and home check as well. They can call Maria at 775-741-1386. She is waiting for her forever place.
