Woody is a 2-3 years old mixed breed lovable guy that loves to chase his toys and go for walks. We think he is a dachshund/terrier mix and he weighs about 20 pounds.

Woody would truly excel with a terrier experienced owner at any running sport, toy chasing sport, lap cuddling competitions, sled pulling, frisbee catching, agility, etc. He has a lot to offer in a small package with a huge heart.

Woody is looking for a very specific home. He'd like to be your main man, the big kahuna, the top banana of your sundae! He doesn't feel the need to share his space with big scary beasts on four legs so dogs over 20 pounds looking for a pal need not apply.

He had a rough start with a man mishandling him so women seem to be a much safer option in his heart although he can and does have some amazing men in his life that he quickly learned to trust.

Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial medical and other costs in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we must charge an adoption fee. The adoption fee for Woody is $250.

If you are interested in adopting Woody, please complete our online adoption application at http://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/adoption-process.html. One of our volunteers will get back to you. Adoptions are local, confined to the SF Bay Area.

About Grateful Dogs Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Grateful Dogs Rescue was founded in 1990; its mission is to rescue dogs not made available for adoption at San Francisco Animal Care and Control and other local shelters through no fault of their own. Rather than letting these dogs be euthanized, Grateful Dogs saves as many as possible by fostering these dogs until a loving home is found.

Grateful Dogs Rescue is always in need of new foster homes!  You can make a difference by fostering. The number of dogs we can save is dependent on having foster parents to care for them until they find their forever homes.

Our Adoption Process...

The Grateful Dogs Rescue adoption procedure is designed to find a good match between the dog and adopter. Our goal is a happy human and happy dog in a "forever home." The adoption procedure includes an application, interview, home inspection, and an adoption fee. The adoption fee helps to cover spay/neuter, shots and other medical care given before the dog is made available for adoption.
