ARCHIE is a very nice 2-year-old dachshund mix, weighing about 20 lbs. He is a very special boy because he is a 3-legged dog. Archie recently had his right rear leg amputated. By the next day after his surgery, he was ready to go, running and playing as usual! Archie's disability doesn't really require any special treatment, except just being a little more careful when picking him up and carefully placing him down. He's just as lovable and capable as any 4-legged dog. He can run pretty fast, and is just an amazing little guy! So Archie is all healed up now and ready to find his forever home. He loves to play with other dogs, is good with cats, and is very friendly with everyone. At bedtime, he sleeps in a roomy crate, and is very comfy laying on one of my old bed pillows. Archie loves that pillow and he can take it with him.
Archie plays with lots of toys, but sometimes participates in a contest with the other little dogs here to see who can pull out the most stuffing! When I open the door for him to go outside, he just has to grab one of his toys to bring outside with him. He is sometimes still holding it in his mouth while doing "his business" so he can get a jump start when he's done. Archie can be pretty sneaky too with his playmates, and will attempt to steal a toy from one of the other dogs if they're off their guard and run away with it! His favorite activity, though, is BELLY RUBS! (See video). At the end of the day, Archie likes to snooze on the couch next to me or on my lap while I'm watching TV. Archie has 4 other dogs his size to play and cuddle with here, so they all keep each other busy, but he also loves my 60-lb. Retriever and will occasionally plays a game of tuggy with him!
Adorable Archie is up to date on his vaccinations, crate trained and housebroken. Archie also comes with free micro chipping. Archie's adoption fee is $200. For more information on Archie, please contact his foster mom, Debbie, at 630-272-1109 or email at email@example.com.
