PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.

8/14/16 Stella is 1/2 German Shepherd and 1/2 Great Pyrenees. She is almost 1 year old, house trained, crate trained, and leash trained. She does well with all people and does well with other dogs. She has not been around cats. Stella has allergies and requires a lamb based diet to stay healthy. Stella needs a family who will spend a lot of time with her and give her plenty of exercise, as she has a lot of energy and loves to be with people. Stella is located in Arkansas. Out of state transport is available once we have a confirmed adopter for her. For more info, email kelley.aasr@gmail.com

Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $300, and for older puppies and adults, the typical fee is $250. This includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (as well as treatment if they test positive) for all pups/dogs over 6 months old. About Adopt-A-Stray - MA

About Our Rescue Group...

Adopt-A-Stray Rescue was founded in Jan. 2010 by Kelley Prichard. Kelley saw a need for the unwanted pets at the local Animal Control to be given a chance at life. Adopt-A-Stray is a non profit (pending) Rescue group. We routinely pull dogs (and sometimes cats) from the euthanasia list at our local kill shelter. We also take in strays and owner surrenders as space/resources permit. Most of our available pets are located in ARkansas and are transported to the northeast once they are adopted or have a foster home to go to. The transporters we use most often are Got Orphans Transport (www.gotransporters.com) and Alpha Dog Transport (www.alphadogtransport.com). All pets are given age appropriate vaccinations and are seen by our vet prior to going to their new homes. Please email for more info on our adoption procedures.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Call for an appointment. Since we dont have a physical shelter, it is important that you call or email before trying to meet the pets. We have most of them in foster homes, some here in Arkansas and some in the Northeast.

Our Adoption Process...

I required that all pets in the home are current on veterinary care - this includes vaccinations and heartworm prevention, minimum.
I require that every pet in the home (ok, maybe not fish and reptiles) be spayed/neutered unless there is a valid medical reason not to.
I have an adoption application and contract for each pet.
My adoption fee varies, depending on what type of pet, breed, age, and medical condition.
