(My official name is Darius, however my recent foster mom called me Hootie.)
Hi My Name Is HOOTIE! What my foster mom has to say about me:

What an amazing, fun, loving cat! Hootie is named for his rock star personality and beautiful exotic eyes that are lined in white like an owl :) Hootie is a manx with what is called a stumpy tail, a little like a bobcat. It’s pretty darn cute because he wags it like a little terrier when he’s feeling playful or excited. He’s extremely athletic and can leap tall counters in a single bound or to the very top of the cat tree with very little effort. Hootie is 2 years old, housebroken and not a clawer or climber, in fact he goes directly to his cat tree or other scratching toys and stays clear of all furniture. I strongly considered keeping Hootie as a permanent pet in our home but after a few months and a recent well check with our vet it has become apparent he really wants an only animal quieter home and I believe will thrive in that type of situation. I have a larger home with a small dog, a lab and another 1 year old cat. Although there is no fighting or chasing, Hootie is just not thriving as I believe he can in a quieter adult only home. He spends most days in hiding unless he can find me in an alone situation and then he purrs and begs for attention. This became even more apparent on his recent well check at our vet when he could not be happier being the only cat in the room absorbing all the attention. Where my other animals can’t wait to get out of the vets office, I think Hootie could have happily moved in! If you’re unfamiliar with the Manx breed they are very loving and loyal. I believe in a single animal home he’ll be constantly at your side and provide his lucky owner years of companionship.

Please consider Hootie! Kittens are darling but it's nice to have a 2 year old cat past the kitten stage and fully trained. Hootie loves any kind of scratching posts or cat trees and especially loves to play with the laser! He’s currently fed grain free food and seems to prefer the fish flavors. He also loves Greenie cat treats and will race across the room to snag one. He doesn’t excel in the adoption environment. It’s just too busy for him and he will be scared and timid in his cage but I can assure you he is a different cat once you get him home!

Please make Hootie happy and take him home today!

Adoption events are held at the Fair Oaks Petco (Madison at Hazel) on Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 4pm.
