If you are crazy for calicos you'll absolutely adore Cocoh! Born in 2013, Cocoh was a mom with two kittens when she was brought to Heartland by our friends at the Northern Illinois Transport team. She is mostly white with calico markings on her head, tail and back. Now that Cocoh has finished raising her babies she wants to be your baby. In return, Cocoh promises to be a loving, loyal companion. Cocoh is quiet, sweet and ladylike around humans but she does not care for other cats so she needs to be an only pet. One of Cocoh's favorite activities is to watch the wildlife outside. She will come to you for pets, but only if other cats are not around. Please ask us to introduce you to this wonderful girl.

About Heartland Animal Shelter

About Our Shelter...

Heartland Animal Shelter is a no-kill humane 501 c 3 organization dedicated to finding homeless pets forever homes while educating the public on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets in order to help with the pet overpopulation problem.

Dr. Herbert Preiser, DVM and founder of Heartland Animal Shelter wanted to make a difference by saving the lives of pets who might otherwise be euthanized because of the over-population of unwanted pets. Dr. Preiser opened Heartland Animal Shelter in October of 2002.

Heartland's vision is to eliminate euthanasia to any adoptable animal. Heartland asks for your support by spreading the word about the importance of why pets should be spayed or neutered in order to prevent overpopulation of cats and dogs. Together we can make a difference!
