My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

http://www.valleydogs.org/tiberius.html -- My name is Tiberius (“Ti”) for short. I am believed to be a Chow-Chow/Golden Retriever mix.

My friend Wilma and I wandered onto the lot of Eagle Riders in Tempe in June of 2016. The great folks there reached out to Valley Dogs who took us in to help us. We are very lucky dogs.

So, do you think you know Chow-Chows? Well, I am the absolute opposite of everything you think a Chow-Chow may be. I am a mellow fellow, affection seeking, patient, intelligent, gentle and I even show a fondness for water. I walk well on a lead and am content to rest at your feet and will soak in all the petting and attention you are willing to give me. I don’t even mind if you invite me up on the sofa or bed to share a nap with you. I am completely house broken, know how to use a doggie door and do not bark much at all. I even am pretty comfortable going into a crate when needed.

Some of my more charming characteristics are when I lay down, my front paws are almost always crossed in a gentlemanly manner. Although I am a mellow boy, I do enjoy a good round of play time, I ride well in a car, and if I need to request your attention you will find yourself on the receiving end of a gentle head-butt.

I look more like a Chow-Chow, but definitely have the temperament and personality of a Golden Retriever. For someone who has always wanted the look of a Chow-Chow (and is committed to the necessary grooming requirements), but a less temperamental dog – here I am just waiting for you to come and adopt me!
