This precious girl was found as a stray roaming the streets of Wilmington during this August heat wave.  She had no collar, tag or microchip.  She was very thin and dehydrated.  She has obviously has been neglected physically and emotionally.  We named her Maggie and other then being underweight and a little weak, she checked out well at the vet.  Her blood work was completely normal.  Her age is estimated to be somewhere between 10-12 years and she weighs 18.6 lbs.  We recently put Maggie in foster care and got an update from her foster mom. 'She is an absolute sweetheart. She loves nothing more than to be around people. Even though she is almost blind, she still tries to shadow me. She will only stay outside if she has company with herShe doe not like to lay on the dog bed on the floor but prefers the sofa, even better yet, she prefers sleeping on the bed. I don't let her sleep on the bed with me but when my parents are watching her, she'll hang out on the bed with my mom all day. She absolutely hates the crate, she will whine and bang on the rails.

She has had a total of 5 accidents in the house the whole time I've had her. This was more human error,  because Maggie has a way of letting you know that she has to go outside to do her business.  At my house, she finds the door an scratches at it. Then she scratches again to come back it. At my parents' house, it's easier for her to find the door since they have a large sliding glass door.
She is starting to get excited about going for walks.  She is also good in car rides.  I have seen a playful side to her. she found a ball and brought it to me but due to her poor sight she has trouble finding it when thrown. She also gets excited when I go to pick her up after work. Her little tail stub does a little wag.'

Maggie is fine with all people, kids and other dogs.  She is also cat safe.  There is no adoption donation for Maggie, we just want to find her a nice place to call home for however long that may  be.  As we learn more about her we will update her biography. (updated 10/21/16)

About Animals Rule Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Our Mission Statement:

Our primary goal is to remove dogs in danger of being euthanized from shelter environments and foster them until permanent homes are found through our adoption program. We believe in the spay and neuter of all animals, regardless of breed, in order to aid in the prevention of pet overpopulation. We provide our dogs with shelter, proper veterinary care and any necessary rehabilitation. We rescue all breeds of dogs and they come to us from a variety of different sources. Most of our dogs are rescued from our city and county shelters, others are strays, neglected, or abandoned due to bad economic times.

Who We Are:

Animals Rule Placement Foundation is a registered 501 (C) (3) Non-Profit Animal Welfare Organization Tax ID #13-4264510. We are a group of non paid volunteers who have come together to rescue and foster animals in need of adoption and find them permanent forever homes. We are based out of the south bay, in the city of San Pedro, California. Our funding comes entirely from donations, our adoption fees and fund raisers. We do not receive any City, County or Government funding. Your tax deductible donation is used 100% for the welfare and veterinary care of the animals while they are with us.
